What are Kolleges Advanced Options?
Kolleges Advanced Options is a bundle of enterprise features configured selectively to meet the operational and security requirements of large, public-sector, and corporate institutions. It comprises six features: custom competency data, branded issuance emails, PII pseudonymization and access approval, bilingual certificates, co-issuance with partner institutions, and class-based auto-issuance. It is the extended configuration of Kolleges — a digital credentialing platform built on 1EdTech Open Badges (2.0/2.1/3.0).
The six Advanced Options at a glance
| Feature | What it does | Primarily for |
|---|---|---|
| Custom competency data | The institution designs its own badge data fields — job competencies, grades, project scores, and more | Universities & companies focused on competency proof |
| Issuance email branding | Change the subject, body, and design of issuance-notification emails to your institution's brand | All institutions |
| PII pseudonymization & access approval | Sensitive data is auto-pseudonymized; originals require a two-step request → approval to view | Public-sector & large institutions |
| Bilingual certificates | Set two languages on one badge; recipients switch to download and share | Institutions running global programs |
| Partner co-issuance | Issue under joint institution names, with per-body permission separation and central HQ management | Consortiums & institutions with subsidiary bodies |
| Class-based auto-issuance | Badges auto-issue when attendance, assignment, and exam conditions are met | Institutions running bulk or recurring courses |

If this is your institution, you need advanced features
Universities & large education institutions
Schools that issue badges to thousands and need to divide permissions by department or center
At Dongwon Institute of Science and Technology, three departments — the AID30+ intensive-camp program, the AI Education Innovation Center, and the SME Support Center — each issue independently while the whole picture is managed centrally.

Public institutions & government programs
Organizations that must prove program outcomes with data and meet privacy-protection standards
The Industry-University Cooperation Foundation of the University of Seoul designed 7 RISE-program tracks into a 15-badge system, running everything — from undergraduates to citizens to corporate staff — on one infrastructure.

Corporate training & HRD
Teams that track employee competencies as data and auto-certify based on course completion
BizMarket auto-issued 166 employee security-training certificates (with unique IDs and KakaoTalk notifications) to meet training-evidence requirements.

Configure it yourself to match your
operations and brand
Design the data inside each badge and the issuance experience yourself.
Design the data inside each badge, yourself
Freely add the data fields you want — job competencies, grades, project scores, completion hours, and more. A badge becomes ‘verifiable competency data,’ not just a certificate. In practice, Daegu Haany University put the evaluation-criteria data of its AI project outcomes into badges so companies could verify students’ competencies.

Set the subject, body, and design of
issuance emails yourself
From the color palette to the subject, body, and button copy, change it all from the admin screen. The first email a recipient receives feels like official communication from your institution.
Issue certificates that work anywhere,
while meeting privacy standards
Meet privacy-law standards and issue bilingual (Korean/English) certificates that verify anywhere, at home or abroad.
One badge, issued in two languages
Set both Korean and English certificates on a single badge; recipients switch language by purpose to download and share. Ready for overseas employment, study abroad, and global-program verification. In practice, UD Impact issued completion badges in AI-startup education for university students in India and Indonesia, using them as evidence of a global program.

Protect personal data, view only what's needed
Sensitive information in issuance data is automatically pseudonymized; if the original is needed, access requires a request → approval flow, meeting PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act) standards.
- Operated under ISO 27001 information security
- Automatic pseudonymization of sensitive data
- Two-step access control: request → approval
- Blockchain-based tamper protection
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) supported
Co-issue with subsidiary bodies, and connect
course operations to issuance automatically
Simplify large-scale operations with co-branded issuance, permission separation, and course-based auto-issuance.
Put several institutions' names on one badge
Issue under joint names with partner and subsidiary bodies; grant each center independent issuance rights while headquarters manages the whole picture. In practice, KOPO Daejeon Campus issues a RISE-consortium course as a single badge jointly named with Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology, and Daegu Haany University co-issues with Pureum HRD under two-institution signatures.

From opening a course to issuing badges, connected in one flow
Open a class, take enrollments, and badges auto-issue to learners who meet mission conditions like attendance, assignments, and exams. Missed issuances disappear and manual work shrinks. In practice, the Maeil Business Newspaper education center auto-issues badges once completion assessment finishes in its AI-certification course, notifying completers via KakaoTalk.
